I can never be grateful enough for a
healing that occurred during and following the birth of my son. I was guided to an obstetrician who was acquainted with Christian Science and had a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy on his book shelf. Following my examination, he offered me a book on birthing which I declined. As a practicing Christian Scientist, I would spend my time studying Scriptures and citations from the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. Two specific quotes were extremely helpful. "... I have made, and will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you." (Isaiah 46:4) and "Teacher and student should also be familiar with the obstetrics taught by this Science." (Science and Health, p. 463). During the delivery of my son everything proceeded very harmoniously. The following day the doctor came in to visit me and told me that he witnessed one of the most beautiful births of his career and he was well over middle-age at that time. Because my husband was not a Christian Scientist, it was wise to have a follow up examination by a pediatrician. Upon this examination, he informed me that my son had a deformed hip and that both of his feet turned inward. He provided a note for me to present to a specialist who he felt would place him in a cast from his hip to his toes. I thanked him and left his office praying about what I had been told. I told no one about the office visit but continued to pray and study the Bible verse and page in Science and Health. The following month while visiting the pediatrician he asked if I had seen the specialist and I admitted I hadn't and upon his examination he said he saw a marked improvement. By the 3rd visit he said my son was completely normal. I believe that being steadfast in the faith brings us through any challenge. I'm so grateful to God and Christ Jesus and for Mary Baker Eddy for being steadfast in her faith and sharing Christian Science with the world.
